My go-to carry-on suitcase

I just got back from Portugal a week ago with two of my gal pals, and I only brought a carry-on and my everyday tote! Are you impressed?! As a girl who loves clothes, I impressed myself! I wouldn’t say I’m a nervous traveler (Henry would beg to differ), but I don’t always trust airlines with my luggage especially when I’m traveling somewhere I don’t have back-up clothing. Aka going home to Memphis to my mom’s closet… So maybe I am a nervous traveler! I do like to get to the airport with plenty of time to spare too.

For this trip, I wanted to make sure I only packed things I would be excited to wear. That may sound weird, but there’s no need to add the fluff if I won’t reach for it! This helped me narrow down what I brought. I included 4 pairs of shoes: sandals and sneakers for daytime, wedges for dinners and tennis shoes for outdoor activities. I packed a handful of dresses because those are one and done outfits that take up little space in your suitcase. I also included a pair of white jeans and denim shorts and many tops to go with both. This made styling for day and night really easy – all I had to do was swap my bottom and change my shoe.

I hope this inspired you to pack a little lighter for your next vacation!
