Happy Sunday, friends! I hope you’re a little warmer than we are here in Chicago, and the snow just keeps falling.
It’s been a minute since I shopped at Zara, but this sweater is a cozy classic I couldn’t pass up. Name something more timeless than navy and white stripes! It’s a great piece that will transition well into the spring too. I’m picturing the sweater with white jeans and an espadrille or maybe a sneaker, and layer a denim jacket on top if you need it. Of course, things sell out quickly at Zara, but I did find the exact sweater on eBay in many sizes. Snag it while it’s still available. I also purchased this one too!

Henry and I escaped Chicago for a weekend away in Telluride with old and new friends. It was my first time there, so I loved wandering around town and exploring all the cute shops and restaurants. A couple of my favorites were Two Skirts and LittleHouse – a women’s boutique and a delicious dining spot, respectively. There’s something so quaint about a mountain town and even more special about Telluride because there are very few chain stores and franchises. And even more special, the storefronts remain original to the architecture that’s been there for the last century.
Of course, you can ski, snowboard and snowshoe, but if you aren’t into winter sports like me, you can take the gondola over the mountain for the same amazing views. I also loved seeing all of the wildlife. One morning we woke up to elk right outside of our house. Definitely don’t get that in the city!
We also had amazing weather – sunny skies and temperatures in the 30s and 40s. Just perfect for enjoying the outdoors, so I can only imagine how beautiful it is in the summer. Telluride, we will be back!

There is just something so fresh about a winter white look. It brightens things up on a cold and dreary day when sunshine and warm weather can be away. When styling an all white look, you can mix both crisp whites and ivories like I have here. Don’t worry if your whites don’t match perfectly!
I’m obsessed with my new ivory sherpa coat that completes this winter white look. I’ve worn my brown version over and over again, so I figured with a long winter ahead, I could invest in another color way. Not to mention how warm this coat is and that it’s on sale!

I love adding special pieces to my wardrobe – pieces that you can’t find everywhere and ones that not everyone already has. This plaid top is by Andion Clothing, a Spanish line I discovered awhile back. I chose the blouse style and then chose the pattern I wanted in that style. I’m definitely not a designer or creative enough to design something from scratch, but this process allowed me to create something perfect for my wardrobe. You can head to their website or Instagram and choose a piece you will love. You can also shop Andion tops at Bunny and Babe – just give them a call!
I styled the Andion plaid top with these colored jeans I’ve worn with so much this fall and winter. I then accessorized with this shearling headband (I can’t get enough of shearling) and an ivory bootie. The booties I’m wearing here could use a trip to the shoe doctor, so I linked a pair that I’ve been eyeing.
P.S. Yes, I was freezing when taking these photos. There is snow on the ground and the temperature was in the 20’s, but there was no other way to show you my new favorite top. Oops!

‘Twas a country Christmas! I was so glad to be back in Tennessee for Christmas with my family. Even though I was home for just a few short days, it was nice to reunite with friends and family. Not to mention, I got to take advantage of some warm weather!
Henry surprised me with this faux fur vest that I can’t wait to wear over and over again. I styled it here with a printed blouse and my go-to straight leg jeans for an easy casual look. I also envision wearing it with all cream to create a monochromatic look. All denim could be cool too! You’ll have to check back to see what else I come up with.
I hope you had a relaxing and rejuvenating Christmas, and here’s to a healthy and happy 2022. Let’s make it a good one!
I’m sure you’ve seen a lot of gift guides already this holiday season, but if you need a few more ideas, I thought I would share some of my favorite things, items I’m getting others and pieces on my wishlist. Of course, it’s so easy to order online, but don’t forget to support your local businesses! Plus, shopping in person is way more fun.
First up is the gift guide for those interior design lovers. Help them complete their space with a piece that will make them think of you!

Guys are hard to shop for! I’m sure they get bored by all the clothes, so I added a few other things that might peek their interest.
| bar tools | whiskey cocktail book | sneakers | decanter & old-fashioned glasses | socks |
| needlepoint belt | puffy vest | yeti cooler |
Lastly, I included items for your fashionable friend! In my mind, the more color and texture the better!
| matching top & shorts | woven bag | pave studs | floral dress | sherpa mules | Gucci scarf |
| sunglasses | colorful necklace | teddy headband | shearling sneakers |
I hope you have the most wonderful Christmas season filled with family, friends, good food and lots of laughter!

Whenever Henry and I go out in Chicago, I feel like my wardrobe is lacking the edge that every other girl is seamlessly pulling off. Let’s be real, I’ll never be edgy, but I can add a piece here and there that will help me fit in. Ha ha! The first thing I added was these faux leather pants that I can dress up and down. I love them casually here with a sweater and sneakers, but I’ve also worn them with a dressier sweater and heels for dinner. Because they are faux leather, I didn’t spend a ton on something I probably wouldn’t wear as much in Dallas. I will say, these are super comfortable if you’re looking to add something like this to your wardrobe!
Thanks for joining me on this ride as we settle into our new city!

We were back in Texas for thanksgiving, and my oh my, did it feel good! And it wasn’t just because of the warm temperature. The south definitely feels like home to us.
Because of COVID, we didn’t get to have an engagement party in Houston, so Henry’s mom thought it would be fun to host a party while we were there! I loved getting to meet all of their favorite people and seeing those we hadn’t seen since the wedding. And of course, I love an opportunity to dress up.
I wore this rust colored dress that I got in Savannah this summer. It felt like the ultimate Thanksgiving piece, and I paired it with these cowboy boots Henry gave me years ago. I hadn’t worn these boots in awhile, but I’m pretty sure I wore them everyday while we were there. It just felt right! I accessorized the outfit with a pair of my favorite pearl hoops. They are a little heavy, so I ordered these patches off of Amazon to support my earlobes. Sounds weird, but they actually work!
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are getting into the Christmas spirit! Our tree is decorated, and we’ve got Christmas music on repeat!

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is here?! The time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is my favorite part of the year. There is so much joy, anticipation and family time! We are headed to Houston to be with Henry’s family, and I’m so excited to be back in the south for a little bit.
I wore this dress last week in Palm Beach, and I think it’s going to be my Thanksgiving dress too. It’s too cold to wear a short dress in Chicago, so I’ll take any chance I can get to show a little leg. Wouldn’t this be so cute with cowboy boots and a denim vest or jacket?! This pattern also comes in a fabulous blouse and jacket if that’s more your speed.
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! XO, MS

These heels are just waiting for a party! Have you checked out Nicola Bathie’s collaboration with Antonio Melani for Dillard’s? Well, it’s filled with everything you may need for the holidays including these heels, sparkly dresses and festive accessories! I wore them this past weekend for a rehearsal dinner, and I was impressed with how comfortable they were. The platform definitely makes a difference. You can also get these heels in black and emerald velvet.
Below I have linked a few more of my favorite items for the collaboration!
