This might be my favorite dress of the summer! It’s extremely lightweight and flowy – perfect for those crazy hot days ahead. The ruffled shoulder and collar plus the bright pattern make me so happy. I’ll wear it with sneakers, wedges and sandals depending on the day.

Also, my sunglasses are on MAJOR sale, so be sure to check those out! I’ve worn them for the last year and a half – 5 star review!

Thanks for stopping by! XO, MS

I wish I had available space in my apartment because one of these bad boys would be coming home with me! Numbers 1 and 11 are my favorites, but you can’t go wrong with any of these neutral pieces. Especially since they are all under $500! Add a bright patterned pillow, and these are ready to be enjoyed. Shoutout to Target for these fabulous furniture finds!

Tie Dye cont.

Okay so we got this tie dye sweatshirt in at work and I just had to… Last week I said I was going to try to keep my tie dye purchases to a minimum, and I’ve already failed! This sweatshirt is SUPER cozy and the perfect cropped length for high waisted shorts and jeans. Unfortunately, I can’t find this exact one online, so I’ve linked similar options. I hope you find one you like! Also, my sunglasses are on major sale, so I suggest you take a look at those as well!

Happy Memorial Day! XO, MS

To Tie Dye For

Are you loving the tie dye trend?! Because I am! I’ve sprinkled tie dye into my wardrobe in a few ways: a workout top, a sweatsuit and this tee. I’m trying not to go overboard, but the bright colors are hard to resist. I’ve had friends make their own tie dye pieces too which have all turned out really cute (using a kit by this brand.)

This tee is the perfect cropped length for any of your high waisted shorts and pants. I’ve even paired it with a white tennis skirt for after dinner walks. How have you incorporated tie dye into your wardrobe?

I hope you have a safe and healthy weekend! XO, MS

You know I gravitate toward red and blue with SMU games in mind. When I saw this dress, I knew it would be great for football games (crossing my fingers those still happen) with a pair of booties and a denim jacket. I’ll wear it all summer with sandals and wedges too. I found these wedges in my closet from high school, a treasure! Both the dress and the wedges were purchased locally, so I don’t have links. Above you’ll find similar options!

Happy Friday! XX, MS

Top 12 most worn spring & summer items

Screen Shot 2020-05-12 at 6.05.36 PM

Happy Wednesday, my friends! I feel like things are slowly getting back to normal – hallelujah! My family and I went out to dinner this weekend for Mother’s Day at a new place in Memphis called Porch and Parlor. If you’re in town, you need to try it, and I suggest ordering the fontina and truffle mashed potatoes, delish!

Today, I wanted to share my top 12 most worn spring and summer items from over the years. Most of these pieces are classics and go together, nothing too trendy you’ll feel silly wearing seasons to come. Some are splurges, but like I said, you will be wearing these items over and over again. When trying to decide if something is worth splurging on, I look at cost per wear. The more you wear the item, the lower your cost per wear will be.

The BEST Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

IMG_4671

I love chocolate, especially chocolate chip cookies. One of my favorite treats is a warm Tiny Boxwoods’ chocolate chip cookie that you can only get in Houston or Austin. This obviously poses a problem when you live in neither of those cities! Henry’s mom found this recipe claiming to be the closest thing to a Tiny’s cookie, so we had to make them – another great quarantine activity!

First of all this recipe makes a ton of cookies! LARGE cookies at that. We cut the recipe in half, and we still ended up with 18.

Ingredients

  1. 1 pound unsalted butter (4 sticks)
  2. 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  3. 2 1/4 cups packed light-brown sugar
  4. 4 large eggs
  5. 3 cups plus 2 tablespoons pastry flour
  6. 3 cups bread flour
  7. 1 tablespoon salt
  8. 2 teaspoons baking powder
  9. 2 teaspoons baking soda
  10. 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  11. 2 pounds bittersweet chocolate, coarsely chopped (we chose Ghirardelli)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Combine the butter and the sugars with your mixer.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing between each.
  5. Now add both flours, baking powder, baking soda, salt, vanilla and chocolate to combine.
  6. We used an ice cream scoop to scoop each cookie onto the parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Recommended 2 inches apart. If you want smaller cookies, use a tablespoon.
  7. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, depending on size of cookie, until lightly browned. We baked for just under 20 for a gooey middle.
  8. Let them cool and then EAT!

I hope you try this recipe. I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Most used items during quarantine

| leopard blanket | books: 1 & 2 | wine glasses | star leggings | tie dye sweatshirt |

| fuzzy socks | sneakers | wireless headphones | yoga mat |

I hope you all are doing well! Today, I want to share some of my most-used items since all of this craziness started. I’ve spent a lot of time outside, whether that’s working out or reading. These plastic wine glasses have been perfect for our neighborhood walks and time spent on the screen porch. On rainy days, I’ve stayed cozied up under this cashmere blanket and in these fuzzy socks.

Let me know what you’re loving right now!
