I love creating new outfits with old pieces. Each piece I’m wearing has been in my closet for at least a year, and in fact, I think I’ve had this shirtdress for four. You can count on a classic piece like this dress or this sweater to never go out of style. Sometimes the classics are worth spending a little bit more money on so that you get a quality piece that will last you for seasons.

I envisioned wearing this fall dress with camel booties (these, these or these), but because it was 80 degrees in Houston the night I wore this dress, I opted for sandals. We got a glimpse of chilly weather yesterday, so I hope that means boots are in my future!
Do you prefer fall or summer clothes? I think I typically prefer summer because clothes are designed with such happy patterns and colors, but for some reason, I’m really itching to wear fall gear this year and leave the summer clothes behind.
P.S. You can grab these sandals on sale right now!!
This is the perfect transitional dress to have in your closet! Wear it now with espadrilles and then with booties and a fur vest as temps drop. It has surprisingly been nice here in Dallas, and I sure hope this fall like weather continues. What are you most looking forward to wearing this season?! I can’t wait for all the boots and booties!
These coated skinny jeans were one of my favorite pieces from last fall, and I can already tell they are going to be a staple this year. They can so easily be dressed up and down which is a quality I look for when shopping. What’s your favorite fall trend?!
Can you tell these are my favorite party shoes?! They go with everything and are perfect for any time of year. I was hesitant to splurge on these heels 8 months ago, but I’ve already worn them countless times! They even look great with jeans and a top, styled here. If you have an event coming up, snag this dress too while it’s still on major sale!
Another beautiful couple is married! My girl, May, married her guy, William this weekend in Memphis. What a joy it was to be a part of their intimate ceremony. New and old friends gathered to celebrate them, and I walked away realizing just how loved they are and how well they love others. Cheers to the Clinkscales!
I bought this dress awhile back, so I linked similar dresses by the same designer. I also linked this exact dress on consignment sites.
How fun is this dress?! I wore it last weekend to a rehearsal dinner, and it was perfectly breathable for cocktail hour outside and comfortable enough for the seated dinner inside. The construction of this dress is beautiful – from the pleats and the bouncy ruffles to the low back. I’m reminded of the book Always Pack a Party Dressbecause this IS the ultimate party dress!
Thanks for letting me relive last weekend! XO, MS
P.S. This dress is on sale, so grab it if you do indeed have a party coming up. Maybe get if you don’t because we will inevitably have parties once again.
This dress makes me happy! The bright colors, the ruffles and the puff sleeves are details I’m drawn to when shopping, and this dress has them all. I linked it above at a few different retailers that have it in varying sizes and price points.
I wore this outfit Friday for a dear friend’s bridal luncheon. A delicious meal at Al Biernat’s was the perfect way to kick off her wedding weekend! If only we could do it all over again!!
Thanks for stopping by! I’ll be sharing my rehearsal dinner dress soon. XO, MS
A white blouse and jeans won’t ever go out of style. I snagged this top over a month ago, and it’s quickly become one of my favorites. In my opinion, you can never have too many white blouses, so if you have room in your closet, this might be a great piece for you. I wore it here with shorts for a more casual look. Dress it up, dress it down and wear it year round!
When I think of summer outfits, I usually think of bright colors and patterns, but every once and awhile it’s nice to break out a more neutral look. I love this dress because while you can wear it now, you can also wear it this fall with cognac bootiesand a denim jacket or moto jacket.
My mom bought this dress for herself, but lucky for me, it didn’t work for her. You can snag it on sale using the link above!
