Floral blouse + headband

| top: here & here | jeans | espadrilles | headband | earrings | sunglasses | bag |

It’s funny because I used to never wear florals or busy prints other than stripes, and now I can’t stop buying them! I love that this top is slightly cropped so that it sits nicely at the top of high waisted jeans and my most narrow point. I find that shorter blouses are more flattering on my body type than those that hit at the top of the thigh. Style tip: if you have a smaller waist and bigger bum/thigh area, try out a shorter top to accentuate your waist. If you don’t have a shorter option, front tuck a blouse into a high waisted jean to give the same effect. Let me know if you try this out and like it!

Have a great Tuesday! XO, MS

Lavender Lady

| dress & similar: 1, 2, 3, 4 | earrings | heels | clutch |

| curling iron | lipstick |

Henry and I celebrated the marriage of one of his longtime friends this past weekend, and we had the best time! I have loved getting to know his hometown friends, the people that know him the best and the longest. It made me even more excited for our wedding and all of our favorite people getting together in one place, my favorite place to be exact! Memphis.

Dressing up made this weekend fun too. One of the reasons I love using Rent the Runway is getting to try something new or something I would not have purchased at full price. This dress is a great example of that. It retails for almost $500, but I rented it for $65. In fact, it came with the tags still on!

I’ve linked this dress plus a few others I love and my accessories! Check them out.

Happy Valentine’s Day, friends! Let me know what you think about this round up.

Chelsea Booties

| similar blouse: 1 & 2 | similar vest: 1 & 2 | jeans | booties |

| bag | earrings | sunglasses |

I LOVE a deal! I call them steals and deals, and that’s the category these booties fall under. I had been eyeing them for awhile, and when I saw they were 50% off, I took the plunge. I was a little nervous since they were final sale, but I’m so glad I took the risk. The suede is beautiful, they are super comfortable, and I love the feminine touch the pearl studs add. Now you can get them for 60% off if you follow the link above!

The rest of my outfit is a combination of old and new, so I did my best to link what I could. Shop the links above to recreate my look!

P.S. This bag holds a lot more than you think, and these heart earrings are on sale!

Favorite Things of 2020

Today, I wanted to share some of my favorite things that I purchased or received in 2020. From loungewear to skincare and home goods, and many of the products I’m sharing are on sale!

Customizable tie dye sweatshirt

The tie dye trend is here to stay, so design your own hand dyed and hand embroidered sweatshirt by Eliza! I ordered a large for an oversized look.

Wrist & ankle weights

I go for a walk most days, and I feel like I’m getting a little extra work in when wearing these ankle and wrist weights. They come in 1 and 2 pound versions.

Printed headband

Y’all know how much I love headbands, and this one is no exception. I have found that these neutral colors go with almost everything. Worn here and here.

Tula set

I don’t know much about skincare, but I do know that I LOVE Tula products! They are constantly coming out with new products that keep your skin clean, fresh and healthy.

Fresh bath towels

These towels feel like a cloud! I don’t know what kind of towels I’ve been using all of my life, but these are a game changer. You can get free monogramming on their site now!

Heart earrings

Statement earrings – another accessory I love, and these are on sale! I wore these for our engagement shoot.

Leather bag

This bag is the perfect evening bag, and it fits more than you would think! Small wallet, phone, keys, lipstick, hand sanitizer, sunglasses and the list goes on.

Barefoot Dreams blanket

I live in this cozy blanket year round, and surprisingly it’s on sale! MOVE FAST.

1 inch curling iron

Since high school I’ve always curled my hair with a 1.5 to 2 inch curling iron, but I’ve started using the 1 inch for a tighter longer lasting curl. I also use this as a wand.

Snakeskin boots

My favorite boots ever!! I am so glad I splurged on these this fall, but lucky for you, they are on sale now.

Metallic leggings

I am super particular about my leggings, and these check all the boxes. Fitted but not too tight, they don’t sag and wear really well. These are also marked down!

Suede booties

A camel suede bootie is a classic shoe you will wear season after season. These look great with jeans, skirts and dresses! Worn here.

Leopard sweatshirt & joggers

I haven’t taken this cozy set off since Henry gave it to me!

Metallic Puffer Jacket

| jacket: 1 & 2 | pullover | jeans: 1 & 2 | headband |

| sneakers: 1 and 2 | sunglasses |

I know we are just a couple of weeks into 2021, but I have a feeling this metallic puffer is going to be one of my favorites pieces of the year. The color makes me happy and the material keeps me warm – great for someone who stays cold like me! It’s on sale, but hurry, because it is selling out fast.

Printed Dress + Snakeskin Boots

| dress: 1, 2, 3, 4 | boots | earrings: 1, 2, 3 | curling iron |

Dresses might be my favorite piece of clothing to wear, and this one is no exception. I love the colors, the pattern and of course, the puffy sleeves. It also comes in two other color-ways (linked above). You don’t have to wear a tall boot either, though these are on major sale! A flat bootie or a sneaker will look great too.

I hope this post inspired you to pull something out of your closet that you haven’t worn in awhile! Thanks for stopping by! XO, MS

Engagement Photos + Outfit Details

MS: | dress | boots: 1, 2, 3, 4 | earrings | curling iron |

H: | sport coat | shirt | jeans | boots |

Henry and I took our engagement photos in early November at SMU and Lakeside Park – both places we love and have spent a lot of time. We used Perez Photography, and we are so glad that we did. These photos turned out beautifully, and you would have never known Henry and I felt super awkward half the time! I don’t know about you, but I’m not used to being lovey-dovey in front of a camera.

I put a lot of thought into what I wanted to wear for these photos, and I purchased this dress with them in mind. On a typical day, I probably would’ve worn big earrings, a headband and maybe even layered a fur vest on top, but I knew I wanted something a bit more classic and clean for photos we would have forever. This dress felt feminine without being too overwhelming or detailed, and I love how the boots added texture.

MS: | sweater | shorts | earrings | booties |

H: | sweater | shirt | cords | shoes |

I knew we would have two outfits each, and I wanted one set to be a little more casual than the other. Here I chose to go with an all white theme, but I didn’t want to look summery. This ivory sweater with the lace sleeves was the perfect piece for the occasion, and I found a simple short to match. I completed the fall appropriate look with these suede booties I wear all the time.

If you are taking professional photos soon, whether they are engagement or for something else, choose an outfit that isn’t too busy and that complements you, not distracts. You will be the focus, not the clothes!
