I don’t know about you, but this spring is full of events, which means I’ve got lots of dressing up to do! I wore this blue floral dress last week to a rehearsal dinner, and it really got me excited for all of the colorful prints this season. Goodbye drab winter colors! Lucky for you, it’s now on sale at a few retailers! Snag it while all sizes are still available. If you need more spring and summer dress inspiration, head to my LTK profile. Puffy sleeves and an open back

| dress | others I love: 1, 2, 3, 4 | heels | bag | earrings | necklaces: 1, 2 |

Sometimes you come across a piece that you just have to have. You have nowhere to wear it and definitely don’t need it, but it’s coming home with you. That’s how I felt when I came across this dress. I had been eyeing it for awhile, but when I recently saw that it went on sale, I pulled the trigger.

Once I put it on, I realized that I could dress it up or down. You don’t need a special occasion after all! Last Saturday night I wore it to our favorite Mexican restaurant in town, Javier’s, but you could totally wear it to a summer wedding as well!

I’m realizing that I have so many clothes that I love but feel I need a “special occasion” to wear them. But why? I need to wear what makes me happy and feel good! Put on the dress you’ve been saving, gals, and have some fun!

All White, Winter White

| turtleneck | jeans | coat (love this one too) | sneakers | earrings |

There is just something so fresh about a winter white look. It brightens things up on a cold and dreary day when sunshine and warm weather can be away. When styling an all white look, you can mix both crisp whites and ivories like I have here. Don’t worry if your whites don’t match perfectly!

I’m obsessed with my new ivory sherpa coat that completes this winter white look. I’ve worn my brown version over and over again, so I figured with a long winter ahead, I could invest in another color way. Not to mention how warm this coat is and that it’s on sale!

Faux Fur Vest

| vest | blouse | jeans | earrings | similar booties: 1, 2, 3 |

‘Twas a country Christmas! I was so glad to be back in Tennessee for Christmas with my family. Even though I was home for just a few short days, it was nice to reunite with friends and family. Not to mention, I got to take advantage of some warm weather!

Henry surprised me with this faux fur vest that I can’t wait to wear over and over again. I styled it here with a printed blouse and my go-to straight leg jeans for an easy casual look. I also envision wearing it with all cream to create a monochromatic look. All denim could be cool too! You’ll have to check back to see what else I come up with.

I hope you had a relaxing and rejuvenating Christmas, and here’s to a healthy and happy 2022. Let’s make it a good one!

Rust Colored Dress + Cowboy Boots

| dress: 1, 2, 3 | boots (other boots I love: 1, 2) | earrings | ear lobe support | curling iron |

We were back in Texas for thanksgiving, and my oh my, did it feel good! And it wasn’t just because of the warm temperature. The south definitely feels like home to us.

Because of COVID, we didn’t get to have an engagement party in Houston, so Henry’s mom thought it would be fun to host a party while we were there! I loved getting to meet all of their favorite people and seeing those we hadn’t seen since the wedding. And of course, I love an opportunity to dress up.

I wore this rust colored dress that I got in Savannah this summer. It felt like the ultimate Thanksgiving piece, and I paired it with these cowboy boots Henry gave me years ago. I hadn’t worn these boots in awhile, but I’m pretty sure I wore them everyday while we were there. It just felt right! I accessorized the outfit with a pair of my favorite pearl hoops. They are a little heavy, so I ordered these patches off of Amazon to support my earlobes. Sounds weird, but they actually work!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are getting into the Christmas spirit! Our tree is decorated, and we’ve got Christmas music on repeat!

Cinnamon: the color of fall

| cardigan | tee | jeans: 1, 2, 3 | sneakers | necklace | earrings | bag |

Happy Friday, friends! I usually stick to blue jeans, but these cinnamon beauties caught my eye. What a perfect color to add to your fall wardrobe. Sweaters and jeans are always a fall go-to, but I will also dress these up with a silk blouse and heels for a night out. When I splurge on a piece, I always make sure that I can wear it in a variety of ways, and these jeans check all the boxes.

Try adding something out of your comfort zone this season!

Wedding Guest Dresses

Wedding season is back, hallelujah! I feel for all the covid brides and grooms that had to alter or move their weddings over the last year. I’m hoping we are moving forward and can return to weddings of limited restrictions and lots of fun! Because I have quite a few weddings over the next few months, I thought I would share some of my favorite wedding guest dress options I’ve found. I love these happy colors and whimsical silhouettes – perfect for a celebration!

Let me know what yall think!

Floral blouse + headband

| top: here & here | jeans | espadrilles | headband | earrings | sunglasses | bag |

It’s funny because I used to never wear florals or busy prints other than stripes, and now I can’t stop buying them! I love that this top is slightly cropped so that it sits nicely at the top of high waisted jeans and my most narrow point. I find that shorter blouses are more flattering on my body type than those that hit at the top of the thigh. Style tip: if you have a smaller waist and bigger bum/thigh area, try out a shorter top to accentuate your waist. If you don’t have a shorter option, front tuck a blouse into a high waisted jean to give the same effect. Let me know if you try this out and like it!

Have a great Tuesday! XO, MS

Classics reimagined

| sweater | skort | coat: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 | booties | bag |

| sunglasses | headband | necklace: 1, 2, 3 |

A little pattern mixing never hurt nobody!!

Each piece of this outfit is a classic, yet all together, they feel new and fresh! I’ve had the sweater, coat and skort for at least a year, but this is the first time I’m putting them all together. I love reimagining items I’ve had in my closet and making them feel new again.

Now, let’s see what you can come up with in your closet! Ready, set, go!

Thanks for stopping by, and as always, shop the links above to recreate my look!

Lavender Lady

| dress & similar: 1, 2, 3, 4 | earrings | heels | clutch |

| curling iron | lipstick |

Henry and I celebrated the marriage of one of his longtime friends this past weekend, and we had the best time! I have loved getting to know his hometown friends, the people that know him the best and the longest. It made me even more excited for our wedding and all of our favorite people getting together in one place, my favorite place to be exact! Memphis.

Dressing up made this weekend fun too. One of the reasons I love using Rent the Runway is getting to try something new or something I would not have purchased at full price. This dress is a great example of that. It retails for almost $500, but I rented it for $65. In fact, it came with the tags still on!

I’ve linked this dress plus a few others I love and my accessories! Check them out.
