Cardi Party

By now you can tell I’m all over this cardigan trend. I have found that there are so many different ways to style them: buttoned all the way up, draped over your shoulders and layered on top of tees and tanks. I’ve had fun introducing this piece into my wardrobe. Next, I want to layer this cardigan over a top with a Peter Pan collar to show off that feminine detail. Ivory + Denim

Some times the cleaner the better. Ivory and denim will always be a classic combo, and when you’re having a styling block, you can reach for this. I have these denim shorts in both this wash and a lighter wash that I wear ALL. THE. TIME. I love the amount of coverage and how they go with just about everything. Who else can agree that it’s really hard to find flattering denim shorts?! If you’re in search of a new pair, I highly recommend these! I’ve also linked a few lightweight sweater tanks for you to try out.

Floral blouse + headband

| top: here & here | jeans | espadrilles | headband | earrings | sunglasses | bag |

It’s funny because I used to never wear florals or busy prints other than stripes, and now I can’t stop buying them! I love that this top is slightly cropped so that it sits nicely at the top of high waisted jeans and my most narrow point. I find that shorter blouses are more flattering on my body type than those that hit at the top of the thigh. Style tip: if you have a smaller waist and bigger bum/thigh area, try out a shorter top to accentuate your waist. If you don’t have a shorter option, front tuck a blouse into a high waisted jean to give the same effect. Let me know if you try this out and like it!

Have a great Tuesday! XO, MS

A little pattern mixing never hurt nobody!!

Each piece of this outfit is a classic, yet all together, they feel new and fresh! I’ve had the sweater, coat and skort for at least a year, but this is the first time I’m putting them all together. I love reimagining items I’ve had in my closet and making them feel new again.

Now, let’s see what you can come up with in your closet! Ready, set, go!

Happy hump day and first day of August! As summer winds down and temperatures continue to scorch, you can find your favorite warm weather pieces on sale and still have time to wear them. Just like the top I’m wearing… Florals aren’t usually my go-to, but I love the small print on this Rebecca Taylor blouse. Head over to their website ASAP because they are offering an extra 40% off their sale!!

Mix and Match

I love wearing this top with its matching skirt, but why limit yourself? I paired it back to an oldie but a goodie – my distressed skinnies. The high rise accentuates your waist and sucks you in!

I purchased these espadrilles a few weeks ago, and I haven’t taken them off since. Maybe to sleep and shower, but that’s it. They are the perfect height, so I can wear them all day at work and not be in pain. I’m warning you now – you’ll be seeing a lot more of these bad boys this summer.

You all know my love and obsession for Tibi. BUT what I love even more: a piece that will transition from one season to the next. I wore this blouse with a suede skirt and under a leather jumper back in the fall and winter. Now the top is making it’s first spring appearance, and you can’t go wrong with an all white look.

Do you have a piece that you break out every season?

| tee | vest (2) | denim | mules |

The saturated greens in these photos make me happy. Spring is here, and it’s time to be outside. #EarthDay.

I love that this outfit is so easy to put together, but adding the vest makes this look more than a casual t-shirt and jeans combo. If that makes any sense. The addition of a third piece can do wonders for any look, whether that means adding a wrap to a dress and heels or a double breasted blazer to your work blouse and pencil skirt.

My favorite third piece is a vest. I have denim, which you’ve all seen a thousand times, military inspired, red leather and a couple of others. Try layering a third piece, and see how much more put together you feel!

For more inspiration, here are some other vest looks: 1, 2, 3, 4. Notice how boring some of my outfits would be if the vest was gone!
