Dressing like fall

| sweater | skirt | boots | earrings | bag | headband |

Who wants to match the fall leaves with me?! Henry said that if he had to describe my outfit in one word, it would be “fall,” so I definitely achieved what I was going for. We didn’t get such a beautiful crisp fall in Dallas like we have here in Chicago, and because of that, I’m going to fully embrace it.

I love that there are so many ways to style this skirt, so be on the lookout for more fall-toned color combos. Until then, I hope you have a great start to your week and feel inspired by the changing leaves!

Colorful Cardigan

| cardigan | denim: 1, 2 | sneakers | headband | bag |

During the cold and dreary months, you need a bright piece like this cardigan to get you through. Just because it’s going to be drab outside doesn’t mean your clothes have to be too! I love this cardigan casually with distressed jeans and sneakers, but I also think it could be fabulously elevated with a pair of black leather pants. Find a way to spice up your wardrobe this winter!

Here are some other colorful cardigans that would also be fun additions to your fall and winter wardrobe!

Light Blue Midi Dress

| dress | sandals | bag | headbands: 1, 2, 3, 4 |

| sunglasses | necklaces: 1, 2, 3 | earrings |

This dress is a new favorite of mine! Although the color may be more spring/summer, you can style it so many different ways. As temps get cooler here in Illinois, I will pair it back to my cowboy boots and neutral booties to transition into the next season. The long sleeves give me great versatility. Sometimes if you take a step back from your wardrobe, you realize all the ways you can wear each piece!

I know it’s been awhile since my last post, so thanks for sticking around!

Linen floral dress from Confete

| dress | headband 1 & 2 | sandals | bag (use code MARYSANFORD10) |

| earrings | necklace (use code MARY15) |

This is the second dress I received from Confete, and I’m in love! (The first one is linked here.) It’s the perfect lightweight linen material for our hot Dallas days and nights. I paired it with tan sandals and a rattan bag for an easy on-the-go look. Of course, you can also dress this piece up with an espadrille or a strappy heel for dinner. Before you go, don’t forget to check out the other Confete pieces I linked in the post mentioned above!

Hope you have a great weekend!! XO, MS

A Coral Floral Midi Dress

| dress | sandals | bag | earrings | headband | necklace |

What a fun weekend we had celebrating some dear friends’ engagement! It was also a great excuse to get back down to Texas, see family and friends and enjoy some warm weather and sunshine. We also celebrated our anniversary (again ha!) at a place called Turner’s known for an amazing wedge salad, a cozy environment and the best hospitality in town. We danced, tasted the most delicious food and now, I don’t think I can ever go back. We had the best time and nothing will be able to top it! If you find your way to Houston, put Turner’s at the top of your list, and if the wait staff tells you to get up and dance, just do it!

Blue and white toile dress

I feel like the spring is usually full of events from weddings to Easter and Mother’s Day. Something’s always going on, so I found you the perfect dress for at least one of your upcoming events. I mean, if you’re a bride, you need this!! Blue and white toile is definitely a favorite of mine in home decor and clothing, and on this dress, it’s fab! All you need are a pair of simple heels and a dainty earring to complete the look. Happy spring!

Tiered Midi Skirt

| white tee | denim jacket | tiered skirt | espadrilles | headband |

| necklace 1 & 2 | sunglasses | bag | earrings |

Hi friends! I shared this skirt briefly with you guys a week or so ago, but I wanted to share with you how I would style it for warmer weather. In Chicago, I styled this skirt with a cream sweater and a pair of booties because, yes, it’s still cold, but in San Diego, I had the opportunity to style it for the warmer weather. I tucked my go-to white tee into the tiered midi skirt and layered a denim jacket on top. I then added by favorite gold accessories, of course, a headband and a pair of espadrilles. Who knew this skirt would be such a great transitional piece?!

Plaid Perfection

Introducing another Spanish line I love, The Label Edition! I don’t know about you, but I get tired of seeing the same ol’ things online and at every store. This line offers special pieces that I’ve been on the hunt for – mainly tops with interesting details. I’ve linked their website above, so that you can see all that they have to offer! I tucked this top into my go-to pair of distressed jeans and added a Chelsea boot and of course, a fun earring and headband. I can’t wait to style this top with white jeans and an espadrille in the spring. When I shop, I focus on buying pieces that I can get a lot of wear out of, and this top has definitely accomplished that.

Navy + White Stripes

| striped sweater | jeans | sherpa coat (similar option) | ivory booties | headband | earrings |

Happy Sunday, friends! I hope you’re a little warmer than we are here in Chicago, and the snow just keeps falling.

It’s been a minute since I shopped at Zara, but this sweater is a cozy classic I couldn’t pass up. Name something more timeless than navy and white stripes! It’s a great piece that will transition well into the spring too. I’m picturing the sweater with white jeans and an espadrille or maybe a sneaker, and layer a denim jacket on top if you need it. Of course, things sell out quickly at Zara, but I did find the exact sweater on eBay in many sizes. Snag it while it’s still available. I also purchased this one too!

The Perfect Personalized Blouse

| blouse: Andion website | jeans | headband | earrings | bag | booties |

I love adding special pieces to my wardrobe – pieces that you can’t find everywhere and ones that not everyone already has. This plaid top is by Andion Clothing, a Spanish line I discovered awhile back. I chose the blouse style and then chose the pattern I wanted in that style. I’m definitely not a designer or creative enough to design something from scratch, but this process allowed me to create something perfect for my wardrobe. You can head to their website or Instagram and choose a piece you will love. You can also shop Andion tops at Bunny and Babe – just give them a call!

I styled the Andion plaid top with these colored jeans I’ve worn with so much this fall and winter. I then accessorized with this shearling headband (I can’t get enough of shearling) and an ivory bootie. The booties I’m wearing here could use a trip to the shoe doctor, so I linked a pair that I’ve been eyeing.

P.S. Yes, I was freezing when taking these photos. There is snow on the ground and the temperature was in the 20’s, but there was no other way to show you my new favorite top. Oops!
