I told y’all a while back that Henry and I didn’t anticipate the chilly weather in Scottsdale. I intended on wearing this matching set without the denim jacket to show off the top’s detailing. It’s almost time to lose the jacket in Dallas and fully embrace the summer heat. Until then, this denim jacket is my go-to layering piece. This bag is also a great piece for spring as it carries your lipstick, credit cards and phone – all you need for a night out.

Furry Friends

Speaking of furry friends, my fam spontaneously adopted a sweet little pup, Ellie, about a week ago, and I’ve been taking care of her here in Dallas. My oh my, she was a lot of work, very cute, had sweet puppy breath, but a lot of work.

I get to resume my normal routine, including blogging, as of today because my parents took her Tennessee. Ellie gets to live with her big brother Winston, chew on lots of toys and run around our backyard. I don’t think she’s going to miss my apartment bathroom, but I hope she misses me.

The Start of 2018

I can’t believe 2017 is over!!! Wow, how quickly it went. I graduated from college, got my first big girl job and am now a rewardStyle influencer! These are just a few of my favorite moments of the year. I took a little time off from the blog, and now I’m back, ready to take on 2018. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year’s Eve.

It was quite difficult going to work this morning after taking a week off. Not to mention the 20 degree weather Dallas is having. Needless to say, I didn’t wear this outfit, but it is one of my favorites from over the break.

I’m surprised how much I love these bright red pants since I tend to stick to more muted colors on bottom. They go with more than I expected including this camo tee, and they are super comfy, too. The pants have a wax coating over the jean material to give the illusion of leather. Don’t be surprised if these come up a lot on your newsfeed.

I’d also love to hear your feedback. What should I include more often on the blog or what I should take away. I want 2018 to be more successful than 2017, and I need your help. Thanks for reading!

You Can’t See Me

I’ve never worn camouflage besides the couple of times I’ve gone hunting with friends (didn’t kill anything) or for a high school costume. I find myself being more and more drawn to it every time I see it in a store. I’ve stumbled upon a camo jacket and pants that I love but decided to start out small with a tee.

Leaves are finally starting to change in Dallas. At least this tree is right outside my office. It seems Memphis is a little ahead of my Texas home. This weekend I was in TN for a friend’s wedding, and it was a great time with family and friends. I still can’t believe I’m old enough to have friends getting married. Some times I still feel like a high schooler, and then I remind myself I have to pay bills.

This is one of my favorite dresses I got last summer. I wanted to wear it one last time before fall hits, so I made the look transitional. I paired the ultra feminine dress with a shiny burnt orange bomber. The jacket adds a touch of edge to combat the feminine details, and the color is a staple for fall. Who watched the solar eclipse last week? It’s amazing what God’s creation can do.

I just purchased this blouse at Zara, of course, and I love these jeans I got a couple of summers ago in London. They hold their shape well and the color is perfection. Definitely worth the investment!
