Dresses are my go-to in the summer, and I have a feeling this one is going to be a favorite all season long. I dressed it up for church yesterday, but I can also style it with sneakers or sandals for a more casual look. Yesterday was an extra special day because it was our first wedding anniversary. I decided to wear my wedding day heels which have been such a fun addition to my wardrobe, and clearly, they are perfect for more than just a wedding! I’ve gotten quite a bit of use out of these over the last 365 days. I try to buy pieces like these I know I will get a great deal of wear out of.

It’s always a great time when one of your best friends gets married! Henry and I were both in the wedding and loved celebrating the happy couple. Not to mention, the Oregon wine country is just beautiful! I wore this light blue dress for the rehearsal dinner that was hosted at Tumwater Vineyard – tasty wines and stunning scenery. My parents, H and I were also able to sneak away to Domaine Serene Winery for another tasting. If you ever find yourself in Portland, I definitely recommend visiting these two spots!

Rust Colored Dress + Cowboy Boots

We were back in Texas for thanksgiving, and my oh my, did it feel good! And it wasn’t just because of the warm temperature. The south definitely feels like home to us.

Because of COVID, we didn’t get to have an engagement party in Houston, so Henry’s mom thought it would be fun to host a party while we were there! I loved getting to meet all of their favorite people and seeing those we hadn’t seen since the wedding. And of course, I love an opportunity to dress up.

I wore this rust colored dress that I got in Savannah this summer. It felt like the ultimate Thanksgiving piece, and I paired it with these cowboy boots Henry gave me years ago. I hadn’t worn these boots in awhile, but I’m pretty sure I wore them everyday while we were there. It just felt right! I accessorized the outfit with a pair of my favorite pearl hoops. They are a little heavy, so I ordered these patches off of Amazon to support my earlobes. Sounds weird, but they actually work!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are getting into the Christmas spirit! Our tree is decorated, and we’ve got Christmas music on repeat!

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is here?! The time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is my favorite part of the year. There is so much joy, anticipation and family time! We are headed to Houston to be with Henry’s family, and I’m so excited to be back in the south for a little bit.

I wore this dress last week in Palm Beach, and I think it’s going to be my Thanksgiving dress too. It’s too cold to wear a short dress in Chicago, so I’ll take any chance I can get to show a little leg. Wouldn’t this be so cute with cowboy boots and a denim vest or jacket?! This pattern also comes in a fabulous blouse and jacket if that’s more your speed.

Goodness, it’s been awhile! The wedding, the move and a new job have gotten me out of my posting routine, but I’m happy to be back.

Today, I want to introduce you to my new favorite blouse. I’m sure I’ve told yall this before, but I often think about cost per wear when shopping. While this is an expensive blouse, there are a variety of ways to wear it. I decided to show you two of them! How cute is this blouse tucked into denim shorts with a pair of flats or sandals? The perfect spring and summer look! As the weather cools off, I’ll be wearing this blouse with jeans and a sneaker or a bootie. You can even layer a vest on top and still show off the fun sleeve. I also want to style this top with leather shorts, overalls and blue jeans!

It’s wedding season, indeed! We’ve been back to Memphis twice since our wedding for friends’ weddings, and it’s been a blast. Honestly, Henry and I are little glad to be out of the planning process and enjoying other people’s weddings. Unfortunately, this dress is out of stock, but I linked a few other dresses by the same designer. I love the combination of architectural and feminine details in each of their pieces! Hawaii Look #5

This is my final round up from our honeymoon on Lanai (insert crying emoji)! I don’t get to relive this trip with y’all anymore, but I appreciate you being on this journey with me. It’s been fun! Can you believe I’m not wearing a puffy sleeve? Somehow every other outfit I packed incorporated this trend. Cleary I like it! This dress is by one of my new favorite designers, and unfortunately, it’s almost sold out. BUT next to dresses, I linked ten of my other favorites from this line, so check them out! Hawaii Look #2

Oh, Hawaii, you were a dream. These photos were taken on my “perch” – where I sat everyday of our honeymoon, read my book and ate delicious food. There were umbrellas, comfy lounge chairs and endless amounts of sunshine to get the tan you desired. If only we could go back right now!

I wore this white jeweled set one night for dinner, and it was a big hit. Not only did I feel like a bride, but I was also super comfy in it. I would recommend it if you’re headed anywhere warm because it’s super lightweight too. I love that this top and pant combo look fabulous together but can also be worn separately to create totally different looks. Dress down the top with a pair of distressed jeans, and dress up the pants with a fun silk blouse. Your options are endless!

Hawaii Look #1

What a week in Hawaii! Henry and I are ready to go back to Lanai asap. It was the most relaxing and serene place – the perfect spot to wind down after a busy wedding season. I’m excited to show you some of the outfits I wore both in Hawaii and throughout the wedding weekend, but first, let me tell you about some of the things we did.

We rode the Four Seasons’ catamaran twice. Once for a sunset cruise and another time for a snorkeling adventure. We loved getting to see the island from a different perspective and of course, being on the water on such a beautiful boat. We also hiked a couple of times, got massages and ate way too much food. I made a few new friends too – an octopus and two parrots. If you get the chance to visit Lanai, Henry and I highly recommend it!

Before I left Dallas for the wedding and honeymoon, I splurged on this printed blouse from a local boutique. I paired it back to these easy white shorts, my favorite pearl accessories and my go-to gold bow heels. These heels truly go with everything!! Every single one of the pieces I’m wearing can be worn a variety of ways, so if you’re looking to add a couple of items to your spring and summer wardrobe, I suggest these.
