Puffy sleeves and an open back

Sometimes you come across a piece that you just have to have. You have nowhere to wear it and definitely don’t need it, but it’s coming home with you. That’s how I felt when I came across this dress. I had been eyeing it for awhile, but when I recently saw that it went on sale, I pulled the trigger.

Once I put it on, I realized that I could dress it up or down. You don’t need a special occasion after all! Last Saturday night I wore it to our favorite Mexican restaurant in town, Javier’s, but you could totally wear it to a summer wedding as well!

I’m realizing that I have so many clothes that I love but feel I need a “special occasion” to wear them. But why? I need to wear what makes me happy and feel good! Put on the dress you’ve been saving, gals, and have some fun!

Retro Floral Mini Dress

| dress | espadrilles | bag | earrings & necklace: use code MARYSANFORD15 |

Doesn’t this floral dress scream vacation?! I was lucky enough to tag along on Henry’s work trip to Mexico, and this dress was perfect for our oceanside dinner. Linen is key for the hot temperatures here in Texas and in Mexico or wherever your travels may take you. Catch me in this dress all summer long with sandals, sneakers and heels. It’s one of those pieces you can easily elevate or make casual depending on your agenda!

I hope I’ve inspired you to add a colorful dress to your summer wardrobe. They definitely make me smile! XO, MS

Tiered Midi Skirt

| white tee | denim jacket | tiered skirt | espadrilles | headband |

Hi friends! I shared this skirt briefly with you guys a week or so ago, but I wanted to share with you how I would style it for warmer weather. In Chicago, I styled this skirt with a cream sweater and a pair of booties because, yes, it’s still cold, but in San Diego, I had the opportunity to style it for the warmer weather. I tucked my go-to white tee into the tiered midi skirt and layered a denim jacket on top. I then added by favorite gold accessories, of course, a headband and a pair of espadrilles. Who knew this skirt would be such a great transitional piece?!

Floral Cut Out Dress

| dress | heels | bag | earrings |

This might be the dress of my dreams! The bright colors, feminine print and edgy cut outs make this a unique piece for your warm weather vacations and the summer ahead. It would be great for an elevated casual event too! I wore this out in Mexico for a friend’s bachelorette, and I also plan on wearing it in San Diego when Henry and I head there for spring break. And yes, I realize this dress is a splurge, but I purchased with a few events in mind. I know I’m going to wear this quite a few times over the next six months.

If you’re looking for a less expensive purchase, this woven bag and these platform heels are fabulous. Both can be worn with SO much. This woven bag has Bottega vibes but of course for a fraction of the price. The platform heels remind me of a YSL heel I’ve been eyeing. You will wear both of these all spring and summer long.

I’m ready for warm weather! Are you?

Plaid Perfection

Introducing another Spanish line I love, The Label Edition! I don’t know about you, but I get tired of seeing the same ol’ things online and at every store. This line offers special pieces that I’ve been on the hunt for – mainly tops with interesting details. I’ve linked their website above, so that you can see all that they have to offer! I tucked this top into my go-to pair of distressed jeans and added a Chelsea boot and of course, a fun earring and headband. I can’t wait to style this top with white jeans and an espadrille in the spring. When I shop, I focus on buying pieces that I can get a lot of wear out of, and this top has definitely accomplished that.

Thanks for stopping by, friends! XO, Mary Sanford

Hi, friends! What a doozy the last couple of weeks have been in the Chicago area. (I probably sound like a broken record.) We’ve had snowfall after snowfall, and the sun has made very few appearances. I’m itching for a warm sunny day, but I know we aren’t getting those for awhile. Instead, I’m creating my own sunshine with these white jeans and this floral top. This is the second Andion top (the first) I’ve shown you this year – such a special Spanish line I’ve come to love. I don’t have a link for you, but be sure to check out their Instagram to see all of their pretty designs.

Above, I linked some other fun floral tops and my go-to white jeans. I’ve had these for at least three years now so definitely worth the splurge. I also want to share these fabulous pearl hoops. These have been such a fun statement to incorporate into my daily looks, and guess what?! I’ve got a promo code for you! Click the link above, and use the code MARYSANFORD15 to receive 15% off your purchase. I hope you find something special to add to your wardrobe.

Thanks again for stopping by, and don’t forget you can shop the links above!

Rust Stripe Button Down

Introducing your new favorite shirt line… drumroll please… Click here to discover Harshman’s beautiful blouses! This isn’t your average button down either. The rust colored stripes and the pleated collar are a unique combo, AND this blouse is made in the US. I can’t wait to layer sweaters on top – if it ever cools off, that is.

I have to say I was feeling quite put together and tailored in this outfit yesterday, but those feelings were squashed when I met Henry for lunch in his office building. The place was bustling with men in suits and women in pencil skirts and block heels. What a different world I live in at FDF! I’m thankful for the freedom and creativity I get to have when getting dressed in the morning.
