Chambray Shirting

A chambray shirt can do wonders for your closet. Not only does it go with everything, and I mean everything – even that dressy pleated skirt you have hanging up, but it is also transeasonal.

Imagine yourself on a brisk fall day wearing skinny jeans, knee high boots, a plaid blanket scarf and this perfect chambray. You can even throw a cable knit sweater on top for extra warmth. While it may be too warm to be dreaming of chunky layers, you’ll also see me wearing this button down with my favorite distressed white flares and a cognac heel – a classic spring/summer go-to.

The chambray I’m wearing (linked above) runs big so be sure to size down. Plus, it’s only $25!! And don’t worry, you won’t die of heat exhaustion because the blouse is fairly thin.

P.S. Don’t miss out on the ultimate spring and summer bags and sandals from last week’s Friday Finds.

Red, White and Blue

By now you know I love these pants! They have become transeasonal for me as we head into spring. I’ve worn them with sweaters and booties as you’ve seen but can’t wait to style them with a lace blouse and sandals. Get this look by clicking the links above! The shoes are only $38!!

This week you can look forward to getting a recap of my Scottsdale trip and more outfits to come!

Thanks for stopping by.

Leaves are finally starting to change in Dallas. At least this tree is right outside my office. It seems Memphis is a little ahead of my Texas home. This weekend I was in TN for a friend’s wedding, and it was a great time with family and friends. I still can’t believe I’m old enough to have friends getting married. Some times I still feel like a high schooler, and then I remind myself I have to pay bills.

Thanks for stopping by, and remember to check out my new “Holiday Shop” on the homepage.

Pumpkin Patch

When I was little my dad called me his “little punker” (and still does) after I wore a pumpkin costume for Halloween in the late 90’s. I still love these bright signs of fall, and that’s why I headed to the Dallas Arboretum pumpkin patch. The garden featured pumpkin houses including Oz, the yellow brick road and the Wicked Witch’s Castle. A sea of family photos, screaming babies and strollers were Sunday’s site.

Pink and green are a trendy combo this season just as they were when I was in middle school. But, slightly different hues. I’ve linked some of my favorite sweater and trouser combos below!

sweaters: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

trousers: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Neutral Palette

I don’t always wear neutrals, but when I do, I choose printed leather shorts. I got these 3.1 Phillip Lim leather shorts at Luxury Garage Sale, and I have to say, they are one of my favorite finds. You won’t see these around; plus, you can wear them all seasons. For those Dallasites out there, you know it doesn’t get too cold. I will wear these into the winter with a chunky sweater.

Other one-of-a-kind shorts: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

I love Stripes

By now, you all know I love stripes. I wear them almost daily, and most likely they are blue and white. I can’t wait to wear this skirt with a chunky sweater into the fall. Maybe with a pair of booties and a leather jacket. Although, I think it might be a while until that happens… It will probably be 100 degrees for the foreseeable future.

I Like What I Do

| top 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 | jeans | shoes | sunglasses |

I thoroughly enjoy getting dressed every morning before work. I suppose this means a couple of things: I like what I do, and well, I like what I do. To be honest, I’ve always enjoyed getting dressed each morning. Maybe not the mornings my mom made me wear tights to church, but every other. And, I like my new job. Working for Front Door Fashion has been a great transition into the real world, and I’ve loved styling each woman no matter her needs. Styling is my passion.

PS this top is old so I found a few great alternatives.
