Often I struggle finding the perfect top to go with a skirt. Do I need to tuck a shirt in or can it just flow? Well, this sweater is perfect for any high waisted skirt. The sweater sits right at the top of the skirt, so the details of the skirt are fully exposed. I found this cropped sweater at a Helmut Lang sample sale in New York, but I’ve found similar options for you!
PS. my skirt is on sale!!!

I was hesitant to purchase this dress in New York this summer because I wasn’t sure if it looked poorly made or if I would even wear it. It’s not a dress that I can wear to class, and sadly, it’s not blue or red for SMU’s boulevard season. To my surprise and delight, I have worn it many times sense being back at school, and I’m happy with the quality! The cut is extremely flattering on all body types, too. I love all of the feminine details: pom-poms, crochet cutouts and a low back.

Eileen and I wandered around Deep Ellum, an area I haven’t spent much time in the last three years. It’s full of restored buildings, street art and live music. Great restaurants are also scattered throughout including a new favorite of mine, Filament. The chef’s grits are amazing!!
