White Wine Sangria Recipe

IMG_4102

Want to make a tasty treat? I’m not a huge drinker, but I do enjoy a margarita or a glass of sangria, especially on a pretty day! Memphis has had some nice weather since I’ve been here, so my mom and I decided to have a little quarantine fun and enjoy some sangria on the screened porch. Check out the recipe we used below!

  1. 1/2 cup brandy
  2. 1/4 cup lemon juice
  3. 1/3 cup frozen lemonade concentrate
  4. 1/3 cup orange juice
  5. bottle of dry white wine (750 milliliter)
  6. 1/2 cup triple sec
  7. 1 lemon, sliced into rounds
  8. 1 orange, sliced into rounds
  9. 1 lime, sliced into rounds
  10. 1/4 cup white sugar (optional)
  11. 2 cups carbonated water (optional; makes drink less sweet)

Once you mix these ingredients in the pitcher, let them cool in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. You’ll be enjoying a glass in no time!

FYI: The recipe makes more than what is shown in the pitcher above. We had already had some by the time I took this photo, oops!

Tips for cleaning out your closet

DFW-Local-Freelance-Stylists

Now that we seem to have a little bit of time on our hands, let’s clean out our closets. Spring cleaning, quarantine edition! Below I’m going to share some of the questions I ask myself when I’m going through my closet. I hope this helps, and feel free to reach out with images of items you aren’t sure you should keep.

  1. Have you worn this item in a year? If no, time to get rid of it.
  2. Are you keeping something for sentimental reasons? I’m such a sentimental person. I can attach meaning to just about anything, but believe me, those items aren’t doing you any good just sitting in your closet. Let someone else enjoy them!
  3. Do you have items that are too big or too small? If it doesn’t fit, it’s time to move on.
  4. Is this item a classic piece? If so, it’s worth keeping. Examples: dark denim, plain sweaters, button up blouses.
  5. Do you have duplicates of this item? We don’t need multiples of the same piece!
  6. Do you feel good in this item? If not, time to toss!

Don’t know what to do with the items you aren’t keeping? Donate them to places like Goodwill or The Salvation Army. You can also take them to a consignment store, and they will sell your items for you. If you are wiling to put in a little work, sell them on Poshmark or other resell sites!

I hope this helps you purge your closet!
