Red Out

This outfit is a product of my time at tibi this summer. For the longest time, I couldn’t decide where to wear this and ended up wearing it to a fraternity formal this past weekend. I love that it’s different, that no one has it, and that it makes a statement. Typically when I shop, I look for pieces that are standout pieces, that can’t be found everywhere or on everyone. This combo did just that.

From Santa

First of all, guys, this is a big moment. I’m not wearing anything by Zara.

Santa surprised me with a few stellar pieces to build my wardrobe. I love the bomber trend but don’t love how the fluffy material makes me look fluffy too. This bomber from Shopbop is a thin silky material, which takes the shape of your body. And, this color is so rich that I’ll pair it with all neutrals.

The flannel booties were also under the Christmas tree. I’m OBSESSED. I first laid eyes on these beauties this summer while working for Tibi, and they made their way into my closet 6 months later. You might get sick of seeing them on me, but I won’t.

Best of 2016

2016 was a great year filled with great outfits, so I decided to share a few of my favorites.

IMG_3211

one: This outfit made the list for many reasons. First of all, this pair of Zara denim has become a favorite of mine. I can’t help but wear them all the time because they are just so comfortable. The Dolce Vita sandals have also been a staple of my spring and summer wardrobe for the last 3 years.

IMG_3329

two: Let me tell you… If I could fill my wardrobe with dozens of Self Portrait dresses, I would, but unfortunately, I don’t have the budget for that. Each dress is incredibly unique and incorporates a variety of textures. I’m obsessed.

img_4326

three: After a summer filled with all things Tibi, I couldn’t help but love the line. I also love the matching set trend and the opportunity to create new looks.

img_4975

four: I love the overalls just as much as the day I shared them with you. This post also includes one of my favorite blouses and my go-to velvet sandals.

img_6303

five: Well, y’all have heard me rant about my Old Navy vest enough that you probably think I wear it everyday. It seems I do, just about. It just goes with everything and can make a plain outfit a little less simple.

I can’t wait to see what 2017 holds!

Giveaway

img_6208img_6209img_6172-1img_6207      | shirt | skirt | shoes |

My cousin, Anna, and I teamed up for our first giveaway this week! Alyssa Herzog won a $50 Zara gift card and a Beads by Anna leather wrap chocker. Congrats!

I am wearing my favorite button down with a suede leather skirt and platform oxfords. I consider the snakeskin oxfords a neutral, and I pair them with most anything. The skirt was a great find at the new Zara in NorthPark Center, and it will work well with any sweater or blouse I have. I have a feeling it will become a staple of my winter wardrobe!

Oh to be a Child

Who knew overalls would come back in style? My mom isn’t so sure that they have, but I like them anyway, oops. I’ve worn them a few different ways: with a t-shirt and sneakers, a button down silk blouse and heeled sandals (shown here), and in the winter I hope to wear a warm sweater and booties. The overalls are versatile – I can wear them every season, no matter the temperature, AND they make you feel like a child again! They will keep me warm in the winter as jeans do but can be worn on a summer night, too. Sorry mom :))

Unfortunately, I purchased this outfit this summer in New York, and it’s no longer available. I’ve attached other matching sets that do the trick!

I wore this last weekend to SMU’s boulevard against TCU. The Mustangs lost, but this outfit kept me fairly cool during a hot afternoon game. Enjoy your last few moments of warm weather!

Life in the City

No dress code, no problem… I found great fun deciding what to wear each day to work. With few limitations, I got to be creative and get inspiration from the people with which I worked.

There was no shortage of art and culture in the city. The Met, The MOMA, and The Whitney are all worth a visit.

These shoes were a lifesaver for Margaret and me. I don’t think we could’ve walked the miles we did in our sandals and loafers. We hated ourselves for following the Adidas trend for the first couple of days, but then we got over it.

Well, you know me and murals. Had to find at least one while I was in town.

I’d rather spend less on a pair of trendy denim than splurging, and instead, I invest in the classics.

Side note, I’m obsessed with the cobblestone streets.

Well it’s been awhile since I’ve had time to devote to the blog. Luckily I have some awesome friends that don’t mind helping a sister take a few pictures. We are in LA this week, and we couldn’t be happier. The weather has been beautiful, but the wind is a little stronger than our liking. If only we could stay here for another week – there are hundreds of restaurants and beaches we have yet to try.
