Neutral Linen Dress

I’m throwing it back to Mexico in July where it was as hot as it is in Dallas today. The heat seems to linger here. And because it does, I keep my summer clothes in rotation. As we inch through September, I’ll start to pair some of my favorite summer dresses with camel booties and the occasional denim jacket. This is a great way to get more wear out of what you’ve got!

Happy Monday! xo, MS

I live for white blouses… Not sure why but they are one of my favorite things to buy! Maybe because they go with everything or because they don’t go out of style? I’m not sure, but I love them! This blouse in a new addition I picked up from a local Dallas boutique, but I linked it above. It’s on sale, too! Style it with colored denim and an ankle bootie as we head into fall!

Happy Labor Day! I hope you enjoy your day off!!

animal print midis: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Get ready because you’re about to see a lot more animal print this fall! It’s a trend that you can incorporate into your wardrobe now through the cooler months, and this skirt is a great example of that. I styled it with a lightweight blouse and loafers for a 100+ degree work day, but once things cool off, I’ll pair it with my coziest sweater and booties. Style the skirt for a night out with a black leather jacket and a block heel. Don’t you love the versatility of this skirt?! I linked a few more animal print midis for y’all to check out! Find the perfect one for you!

Happy Monday, friends! Thanks for stopping by!

The best embroidered dress

IMG_4615

First of all, how dreamy is this backdrop? Hotel Esencia, just north of Tulum, Mexico, is the most serene place I’ve ever stayed. Iguanas greeted me every morning on my doorstep, and the private beach was only steps away. I can’t talk about this place without mentioning the five star service and the kind people who work there. I already miss Jorge’s and Rojo’s smiling faces!!

Now onto my outfit… This was the perfect dress to bring to Mexico. It was not only breathable in the intense heat but mimicked the embroidery you find on traditional Mexican dresses. I paired it with the orange straw bag and my tried and true gold espadrilles. What am I going to do when these fall apart?

The Headband Trend

Who else is loving the headband trend?! To be honest, this is my first time wearing one since about the 8th grade, and I am digging it. My coworker wears one almost everyday, and they always complete her look. I’ve linked this one above, so you can try out the trend if you haven’t already! Shop some of my other favorites below!

P.S. My jeans are on sale and quite a few sizes left! I’d recommend sizing up.

Bright Bold Colors and Asymmetrical Lines

IMG_4203

I don’t wear a lot of red, but when I stumbled upon this dress at one of my favorite consignment stores, I had to have it. I love the asymmetrical lines, the bright bold colors and the silk material. Not to mention, I got it for over 75% off, and it still had the tags attached! That’s a win in my book! I wasn’t able to find the dress online, but I found some other fun options by the same designer, DVF.

Happy Humpday, friends!

Style a Scarf as a Belt

IMG_4106

| blouse | shorts | bag | espadrilles | earrings | scarf |

Hi friends! I’ve styled this scarf many times for you (1, 2, 3, 4), and today I’m showing you how to wear it as a belt. This scarf is 36 inches by 36 inches which allows me to wear it many different ways! First, click here to see how I folded the scarf. You can fold it as few or as many times as you’d like depending on how thick you want your belt. I decided to wear mine thicker, so you can see more of the pattern and color.

I hope this inspired you to wear your scarves a new way!
