Henry and I escaped Chicago for a weekend away in Telluride with old and new friends. It was my first time there, so I loved wandering around town and exploring all the cute shops and restaurants. A couple of my favorites were Two Skirts and LittleHouse – a women’s boutique and a delicious dining spot, respectively. There’s something so quaint about a mountain town and even more special about Telluride because there are very few chain stores and franchises. And even more special, the storefronts remain original to the architecture that’s been there for the last century.

Of course, you can ski, snowboard and snowshoe, but if you aren’t into winter sports like me, you can take the gondola over the mountain for the same amazing views. I also loved seeing all of the wildlife. One morning we woke up to elk right outside of our house. Definitely don’t get that in the city!

We also had amazing weather – sunny skies and temperatures in the 30s and 40s. Just perfect for enjoying the outdoors, so I can only imagine how beautiful it is in the summer. Telluride, we will be back!

Faux Fur Vest

‘Twas a country Christmas! I was so glad to be back in Tennessee for Christmas with my family. Even though I was home for just a few short days, it was nice to reunite with friends and family. Not to mention, I got to take advantage of some warm weather!

Henry surprised me with this faux fur vest that I can’t wait to wear over and over again. I styled it here with a printed blouse and my go-to straight leg jeans for an easy casual look. I also envision wearing it with all cream to create a monochromatic look. All denim could be cool too! You’ll have to check back to see what else I come up with.

White Blouse with Peter Pan Collar

In my book, you can never have too many white blouses. Classic button downs, silky tanks, cotton poplin blouses and maybe an eyelet top with a Peter Pan collar!! When I stumbled upon this beauty thanks to a friend, I knew I had to have it. I’ve been on the hunt for a white top with a fun collar, and you really can’t beat this price.

I envision layering this under a sweater vest, tucking it into a skirt and front tucking it into denim shorts this coming spring and summer. When I buy, I keep versatility in mind, and this top will definitely get lots of wear!

By now you can tell I’m all over this cardigan trend. I have found that there are so many different ways to style them: buttoned all the way up, draped over your shoulders and layered on top of tees and tanks. I’ve had fun introducing this piece into my wardrobe. Next, I want to layer this cardigan over a top with a Peter Pan collar to show off that feminine detail. Goodness, it’s been awhile! The wedding, the move and a new job have gotten me out of my posting routine, but I’m happy to be back.

Today, I want to introduce you to my new favorite blouse. I’m sure I’ve told yall this before, but I often think about cost per wear when shopping. While this is an expensive blouse, there are a variety of ways to wear it. I decided to show you two of them! How cute is this blouse tucked into denim shorts with a pair of flats or sandals? The perfect spring and summer look! As the weather cools off, I’ll be wearing this blouse with jeans and a sneaker or a bootie. You can even layer a vest on top and still show off the fun sleeve. I also want to style this top with leather shorts, overalls and blue jeans!

Floral Embroidered Top

Let me introduce you to my new favorite top! I haven’t shared anything new with you guys in awhile for a few reasons including I haven’t bought much lately (saving for wedding purchases) and haven’t been super inspired to create new outfit combinations either. I’m starting to pick up a few spring and summer pieces, and I’m feeling inspired by the beautiful sunshine we’ve had, both here in Dallas and in Memphis.

This blouse is one of my latest purchases, and of course it’s already almost sold out. Apparently other people love it too! I’ve linked some of my other favorite floral tops above, so you can recreate my look. Many have ruffles and fun collars – a Sanford Standard staple.

I styled this top back to my go-to straight leg jeans. If I haven’t convinced you to get these jeans yet, now is the time. I’ve worn them over the last year on a weekly basis. Medium wash straight leg jeans

Everyone has their go-to pairs of jeans. The ones that are the most comfortable, you feel the best in and are super soft from all the washes. These are one of mine. Y’all see me wearing the lighter washed distressed version of these often, but for whatever reason, I haven’t shared these much. I used to only wear skinny jeans, but after introducing the straight leg into my wardrobe, they have quickly become a staple. I feel like the straight leg is the skinny jean’s casual cousin. The skinny is still my go-to when dressing up, but there is something great about a straight leg jean, a cozy sweater and sneakers or loafers. Effortless yet still put together. I recommend trying a straight leg if you haven’t already!

Happy Monday, friends! Did you watch the Super Bowl last night?! Henry and I picked up Houston’s spinach artichoke dip and chilled on the sofa – ’twas a good night!

Today, I wanted to share one of my go-to sweatshirts. I love that it’s so comfortable yet feels fashionable and put together! Of course I styled it with a headband and my favorite jeans. If you only buy one thing from me ever, it needs to be these jeans. I swear I wear them at least 3 times a week. They run true to size but give a little as you wear them, so I occasionally dry them.

I hope you had a great weekend! I was back in Memphis for a few days with extended family, and we had a blast. After celebrating the life of my great aunt, we were able to enjoy time with cousins, aunts and uncles and grandparents. Circumstances weren’t ideal, but it was special being with people we don’t see often.

Today, I’m highlighting a summer classic: eyelet. Specifically a white eyelet blouse. This is a piece you can wear every summer for years to come.
