Friday Finds

fridayfinds

Today I am headed to New York with my mom, and I can only imagine the walking we are going to do. I’ve decided to focus this week’s Friday Finds on the most comfortable shoes going into Fall. You don’t just need comfortable shoes in NYC, so I’ve pulled a few that we will need for those days when we don’t want to try too hard but don’t want to wear our tennis shoes either.

Vince Warren Slip-On

First up is the Vince slip-on. These come in all the coveted fabrics and colors of fall including olive satin and pink velvet. These shoes have been all the rage the last couple of years, but I love the height Vince has added.

Rebecca Minkoff Sammi Slide

This shoe is made for the times you are feeling a little more daring. These slides will be perfect for a legging and sweater combo.

Loeffler Randall Jasper Tassel Oxford

I love a great oxford – I’m sure you can tell considering I wear my snakeskin oxfords quite regularly. I picture myself wearing this shoe with a slim ankle length black trouser and a crew neck sweater. This shoe speaks “put together J. Crew” to me.

Paul Green Logan Bootie

Comfort is key when it comes to wearing a bootie. If they are too tight, your foot feels claustrophobic. If they are too big, you feel like a clown. Or at least I do. I love the colors this Paul Green bootie comes in. I envision you wearing this bootie with distressed jeans and a plaid button down, but that’s just me.

Vince Bray Loafer

Vince has done it again. Add a velvet loafer to your business casual or casual wardrobe. This shoe is something you can work into your daily rotation.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy Friday!

Looks for Less

Today’s post is about getting looks for less. Most of us can’t afford outfits with these kinds of price tags, so I’ve done a little work for you. I’ve taken outfits from Farfetch and transferred them into everyday affordable looks. Enjoy!

Needless to say, most people can’t afford this look. The blouse is well over $600, not to mention the jeans, leather bag and shoes. I’ve curated a few pieces so that you can recreate this trendy yet classic outfit on your own. You can get this look for around $315 with the pieces I selected.

I love the color combo Farfetch has created. The bag alone is $1000, but I’ve created this look for under $400. These pieces  are very versatile and can be worn through fall/winter into spring.

I can’t say no to a pop of red. This past weekend I wore a bright red dress to a wedding, and I loved it. This look can be transitioned from work to casual. The Givenchy trousers will set you back $1200.

I Like What I Do

I thoroughly enjoy getting dressed every morning before work. I suppose this means a couple of things: I like what I do, and well, I like what I do. To be honest, I’ve always enjoyed getting dressed each morning. Maybe not the mornings my mom made me wear tights to church, but every other. And, I like my new job. Working for Front Door Fashion has been a great transition into the real world, and I’ve loved styling each woman no matter her needs. Styling is my passion.

PS this top is old so I found a few great alternatives.

The 4th of July

Every fourth of July my family travels to Cashiers, North Carolina for a few days. We stay at the High Hampton Inn, an inn that is almost 100 years old, serves everyone in a main dining hall, hosts bingo every other night, and welcomes the same families year after year. These photos were taken on the High Hampton golf course July 4th. We ate bbq, cooked s’mores and watched fireworks. I can’t wait to go back to the 70 degree weather and mountain views next year.

It’s Friday again, and I’m here to share some of my favorite things with you.

Headboard

This is the headboard I just purchased for my new apartment! I love the French detail and the neutral colors that can be paired with anything. This is something I hope to have for years. Checkout One Kings Lane for all your home needs.

Sugarfina

I’m obsessed with Sugarfina candies. They sell unique flavors from all over the world in the cutest lucite boxes. I received the “Rose All Day” gift set (pictured above) in my Easter basket, and they were absolutely delicious. Sugarfina has many gift sets, perfect for Mother’s Day. The company even has a promo code online if you purchase for your mom.

I love the feminine dresses by Alexis. The line combines cutouts with ruffles and lace – definitely a unique combo. Take a look at their new spring collection!
