Sunday’s Best

Finally, Saturday felt like the first day of winter. After 70 degrees and tornado warnings on Friday, we had a snow filled Saturday morning. That didn’t stop us from enjoying a sunny afternoon at Katy Trail Ice House – heaters and blankets included.

Sunday morning I couldn’t bare to show much leg, so I grabbed my over-the-knee boots and a cozy coat. These boots have been a favorite for years and will continue to be a classic style. If you’re looking for an investment piece, these are a go! Grab this dress while it’s still available too – deeply discounted!

Happy Monday! XO, MS

A few of my favorite things

I’ve worn this blouse about 17 times since I got it… And that was last month. You can probably see why I like it so much. It’s different! The combination of many textures and patterns make this blouse a standout piece. I’m constantly on the hunt for something that not everyone has. Something with great detail. And I found it! See the different color ways linked above.

School Girl

Are you getting Serena van der Woodsen vibes? I’m definitely feeling a bit like a school girl. These pieces aren’t new, but I’ve styled them in a new way. You probably have some exciting outfit combinations just waiting to be discovered in your own closet. I encourage you to get creative, and see what you can put together!

I’m working on a hostess gift guide for this week’s Friday Finds. After Christmas, I’ll begin posting consignment finds once again.

Mad for Plaid

Happy Monday!! I hope you all had a great weekend. My roommates and I spent the weekend packing up our apartment in anticipation of our move this week. “Moving is fun!” said no one ever. I can’t wait to be unpacked and settled in our new place this coming week.

Now onto more exciting things: my outfit. I love a mini dress and over-the-knee boot combination. It’s a classic fall go-to that can be recreated many different ways. I picked up this plaid dress at Zara while in Chicago visiting my brother. This leather jacket is a vintage piece from my mom’s closet that I snagged while home a few weeks ago. She doesn’t wear it anymore, so now I get to! I received these suede boots last year for Christmas and what a staple they are. Wear them with jeans, tights and dresses or skirts – basically your entire winter wardrobe. I linked the exact pair plus a budget friendly option.

I hope y’all have a great week. Let me know if there is anything you would like for me to post about!

Gray Days

I brightened a gray day with a pink backdrop.

I hope your week is going well! Work is busy for me which is a good thing, so I’ve been slacking off a little on Sanford Standard. Instead of getting in bed and writing a post, I’m emailing customers. I took a break last night to watch the Bachelor, and my, oh, my the drama continues. Do you have a favorite potential wife for Arie?

Tuesday Shoesday

I’m sure you’ve noticed by now that over the knee boots are all the rage. Below I’ve linked both expensive and inexpensive options if you’re looking to follow this trend this fall and winter. They look great with dresses, with skirts and over jeans. You may even be able to avoid wearing tights with these boots.
