Green Striped Dress + My Wedding Heels

| dress | heels | earrings | bracelet | straw clutches: 1, 2, 3, 4 |

Dresses are my go-to in the summer, and I have a feeling this one is going to be a favorite all season long. I dressed it up for church yesterday, but I can also style it with sneakers or sandals for a more casual look. Yesterday was an extra special day because it was our first wedding anniversary. I decided to wear my wedding day heels which have been such a fun addition to my wardrobe, and clearly, they are perfect for more than just a wedding! I’ve gotten quite a bit of use out of these over the last 365 days. I try to buy pieces like these I know I will get a great deal of wear out of.

I hope you have a great start to your week and make smart purchases! XO, MS

Party Ready

| dress: here & here | heels | earrings | bag |

Between this coming May and last, Henry and I will have been to and/or in 10 weddings. That means lots of party dresses needed! I recently purchased this beauty for a bridesmaids luncheon, and I plan on wearing it to a rehearsal dinner too in just a couple of weeks. Because we have so many events coming up, I am buying just a few dresses that will work for several of the occasions. This piece is a little different from what I usually gravitate towards, so I was happy when I stumbled upon it!

I have a few more fun dresses cued up for you, so be on the look out!

Marigold Printed Dress

| dress: here, here & here | heels: low & high | clutch | earrings | headband, love this one too |

This might be my favorite summer dress yet! I love the puff sleeves, the ties at the bust and the longer length. In the summer, especially in this Texas heat, I don’t love a bunch of fabric touching me. Easy and breezy are key characteristics when searching for summer clothes, and this dress checks all the boxes.

I wore this dress for Father’s Day and dressed it up with my wedding heels and pearl accessories. You can also style it with a pair of espadrilles or strappy sandals. I own both of these and wear them ALL. THE. TIME. If you’re looking to update your spring/summer shoe game, you can’t go wrong with all three of these. All neutral colors that can be worn with everything. Mileage is another key characteristic when choosing pieces to add to my wardrobe.

P.S. This dress is selling out quickly, so if you want to give it a try, order asap!

Thanks for letting me share some of my favorite goodies!

Hawaii Look #2

| top | pants | heels | earrings | clutch |

Oh, Hawaii, you were a dream. These photos were taken on my “perch” – where I sat everyday of our honeymoon, read my book and ate delicious food. There were umbrellas, comfy lounge chairs and endless amounts of sunshine to get the tan you desired. If only we could go back right now!

I wore this white jeweled set one night for dinner, and it was a big hit. Not only did I feel like a bride, but I was also super comfy in it. I would recommend it if you’re headed anywhere warm because it’s super lightweight too. I love that this top and pant combo look fabulous together but can also be worn separately to create totally different looks. Dress down the top with a pair of distressed jeans, and dress up the pants with a fun silk blouse. Your options are endless!

Do you like matching sets?!

Hawaii Look #1

| blouse | shorts | earrings | headband | clutch | heels: tall & short |

What a week in Hawaii! Henry and I are ready to go back to Lanai asap. It was the most relaxing and serene place – the perfect spot to wind down after a busy wedding season. I’m excited to show you some of the outfits I wore both in Hawaii and throughout the wedding weekend, but first, let me tell you about some of the things we did.

We rode the Four Seasons’ catamaran twice. Once for a sunset cruise and another time for a snorkeling adventure. We loved getting to see the island from a different perspective and of course, being on the water on such a beautiful boat. We also hiked a couple of times, got massages and ate way too much food. I made a few new friends too – an octopus and two parrots. If you get the chance to visit Lanai, Henry and I highly recommend it!

Before I left Dallas for the wedding and honeymoon, I splurged on this printed blouse from a local boutique. I paired it back to these easy white shorts, my favorite pearl accessories and my go-to gold bow heels. These heels truly go with everything!! Every single one of the pieces I’m wearing can be worn a variety of ways, so if you’re looking to add a couple of items to your spring and summer wardrobe, I suggest these.

Thanks for stopping by! I look forward to sharing more with you.

Styled Spring Looks #2

Just in case you needed a little spring inspo on this Monday morning! After a week of freezing temps, we now have beautiful sunny and 75 degree weather here in Dallas. That’s Texas for you! I’m over layers and snow boots and ready to move into sandals and sundresses. I decided to style a few spring looks to get you ready for the warmer weather ahead! Many of these pieces can be transitioned from winter to spring just depending on how you style them. Have fun shopping!

I’d also love these two tops paired with white jeans – another easy way to brighten up a winter to spring look.

Pastels scream spring, and these dresses are no different! Of course you can dress them both down with a flat sandal and denim jacket.

I love a beige or ivory jean as opposed to a white jean. These are a great way to add another neutral pair to your closet without them being white or a light wash.

Henry and I celebrated the marriage of one of his longtime friends this past weekend, and we had the best time! I have loved getting to know his hometown friends, the people that know him the best and the longest. It made me even more excited for our wedding and all of our favorite people getting together in one place, my favorite place to be exact! Memphis.

Dressing up made this weekend fun too. One of the reasons I love using Rent the Runway is getting to try something new or something I would not have purchased at full price. This dress is a great example of that. It retails for almost $500, but I rented it for $65. In fact, it came with the tags still on!

I’ve linked this dress plus a few others I love and my accessories! Check them out.

A Pink Printed Dress for Fall

| dress other color ways: 1, 2 | headband | sandals | earrings |

I envisioned wearing this fall dress with camel booties (these, these or these), but because it was 80 degrees in Houston the night I wore this dress, I opted for sandals. We got a glimpse of chilly weather yesterday, so I hope that means boots are in my future!

Do you prefer fall or summer clothes? I think I typically prefer summer because clothes are designed with such happy patterns and colors, but for some reason, I’m really itching to wear fall gear this year and leave the summer clothes behind.

P.S. You can grab these sandals on sale right now!!

Thanks for reading and happy weekend! XO, MS

Wedding Guest Dress

| dress: rent or buy | shoes | earrings | bra | curling iron |

This weekend was a blast! We had the best time celebrating the Brolliers, Henry’s mom and new husband, at Houston’s Bayou Club! It was a gift to have so many of his family members all in one room after months apart.

I wore this beautiful midi dress that was the perfect weight for this transitional weather. The deep v neck and the puffy sleeves made the dress perfectly feminine and just dressy enough for the event. I give this dress a 10/10 if you have a special event coming up!

Thanks for stopping by, and as always, you can find more of my outfits linked in the LIKEtoKNOW.it app!
