Gingham Style

If you’ve been following along for a while now, you’ve probably figured out how I love gingham. Tops, dresses, ribbons… You name it, and I’ve worn it. When I stumbled upon this detailed gingham blouse, I knew I had to have it. Not to mention I got it for a serious deal! Now you know two things I can’t resist: gingham and a deal. Get spring ready by recreating my look from the links above!

Here are a few other times I’ve worn gingham over the years: 1, 2, 3, 4.

You may have also noticed that I’ve been wearing my hair like this a lot lately. I’ve been French braiding it half way down by head and then putting it in a ponytail. My hair will stay out of my face all day, and it looks cute! No slicked back pony for me! It also holds everything back when working out.

Fur Real

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! I sure did! Henry was in town, and of course we ate lots of great meals and tried to bare the 100 degree heat. Saturday lunch was at the Porch, one of Henry’s absolute favorites, and then we ventured to HG Supply on Lower Greenville for dinner. After church we had a quick bite at East Hampton, another Henry Shepherd staple, before he hit the road. A relaxing weekend is just what the doctor ordered, only next time I wish he could stay longer.

I know I get on here and always have a new obsession, but this one is FUR REAL. These leopard sneakers are a new staple for me! I love the ruggedness and edge they add to any outfit. This weekend I paired them with a sundress which was perfect for our afternoon ride on the Bird Scooters. And, if you haven’t ridden those yet, hop to it!

P.S. My sneakers are on sale, so get them while they’re hot!

Straw + Plaid

I guess this is typically a farmer’s favorite combo, but here I am wearing it! You already know how much I love plaid blouses, but I’m pairing it with one of the season’s hottest trends. Straw bags are all the rage, and Etsy is a great place to find them. Click HERE for many great woven bags of all sizes!

Thanks for stopping by, and don’t forget to share with a friend!

Some of my favorite items and standout pieces come from designer consignment stores. I have found them selling at less than half of retail – even when brand new. I seek out these stores when I’m traveling because you never know what you may find.

I purchased these Marissa Webb wide leg crops from a Dallas consignment store, Clothes Circuit. Unfortunately, I can’t link the exact pair, but I found similar.

Do you shop at consignment stores? Does it weird you out to wear someone else’s clothes? Or do you get overwhelmed by the large amount of inventory? My trick is: just try it on. Something may look awful on the hanger but look great on you. Often the opposite happens. I will have high hopes for a garment, and it just doesn’t fit right. Remember, you are looking for buried treasure!

Here are some of my favorite online consignment stores and designer liquidators if you haven’t found a local store you like!

  2. Luxury Garage Sale
  3. The Outnet
  4. United Apparel Liquidators

The 4th of July

Every fourth of July my family travels to Cashiers, North Carolina for a few days. We stay at the High Hampton Inn, an inn that is almost 100 years old, serves everyone in a main dining hall, hosts bingo every other night, and welcomes the same families year after year. These photos were taken on the High Hampton golf course July 4th. We ate bbq, cooked s’mores and watched fireworks. I can’t wait to go back to the 70 degree weather and mountain views next year.

Hop on the gingham trend! You won’t be disappointed. After a little self reflection, I’ve realized that some of my favorite pieces are gingham. You can find anything in this pattern from shoes, to bags, to bathing suits. I’ll show you the way I’ve styled it and other pieces you may enjoy!

Also, make sure you check out the Akola Project. They gave me this beautiful necklace. Not only does this organization sell beautiful jewelry, it also helps empower women all over the world.
