Horseshoe shaped denim

I don’t know about you, but I love trying new denim trends. Jeans are something I wear almost daily, especially in the winter, so when there’s something fresh out there, I have to try it! Of course, they don’t always work for my body type though. Over the last year, I’m loving straight leg jeans, crop flares, wide leg denim, the horseshoe and even skinny jeans!

When styling the horseshoe jean, focus on wearing something fitted or tucked in on top. You want to accentuate your waist because a completely baggy look isn’t always the most flattering. Here are a few other horseshoe options I’m loving: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Let me know if you try out this trend!

Have a great week, friends! XO, MS

Goodness, it’s been awhile! The wedding, the move and a new job have gotten me out of my posting routine, but I’m happy to be back.

Today, I want to introduce you to my new favorite blouse. I’m sure I’ve told yall this before, but I often think about cost per wear when shopping. While this is an expensive blouse, there are a variety of ways to wear it. I decided to show you two of them! How cute is this blouse tucked into denim shorts with a pair of flats or sandals? The perfect spring and summer look! As the weather cools off, I’ll be wearing this blouse with jeans and a sneaker or a bootie. You can even layer a vest on top and still show off the fun sleeve. I also want to style this top with leather shorts, overalls and blue jeans!

I hope this post encourages you to expand the life of some of your pieces!

Happy Memorial Day, friends! I hope you are all enjoying your day off. I’m hoping to relax by the pool and do a little housekeeping. What are your plans today?

I added a pop of pink to this otherwise black and white look with these earrings and jeans. How fun are the flower beaded earrings?! I’m wearing these any chance I get, and see how I styled them here too! Blush jeans are a staple for spring and a color of the season. Shop the look by clicking the links above.

Have a great day!

Happy Monday, friends! It was a beautiful day yesterday, so I spent a lot of my time outside reading Everybody Always by Bob Goff. If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend you do!

Now for the outfit details… I bought this top last fall, but I love that it can be worn any season. You can probably tell that I’ve been living in these jeans since I got them! The wash is perfect for spring and summer and well, any season for that matter. I linked an almost identical pair above, so you can recreate my look!

Thanks for stopping by!

Gingham Style

If you’ve been following along for a while now, you’ve probably figured out how I love gingham. Tops, dresses, ribbons… You name it, and I’ve worn it. When I stumbled upon this detailed gingham blouse, I knew I had to have it. Not to mention I got it for a serious deal! Now you know two things I can’t resist: gingham and a deal. Get spring ready by recreating my look from the links above!

Here are a few other times I’ve worn gingham over the years: 1, 2, 3, 4.

You may have also noticed that I’ve been wearing my hair like this a lot lately. I’ve been French braiding it half way down by head and then putting it in a ponytail. My hair will stay out of my face all day, and it looks cute! No slicked back pony for me! It also holds everything back when working out.

Let’s spring forward

Who else is ready for spring? Spring inventory is arriving at work, it’s everywhere online and my newsfeed is covered with spring break posts. All we need is the warmer weather! As cute as this coat is, I think I’m ready to retire it until next fall. I can’t wait for sundresses and sandals. I’m sure as soon as the Dallas summer heat arrives, I’ll be regretting I ever said this.

This blouse and these jeans are great transition pieces as the seasons change. Throw on your favorite tee and sandals with this distressed straight leg. Tuck the gauze polka dot blouse into your white skinnies, and add an espadrille for another spring look!

Thanks for stopping by! Don’t forget you can shop my look by clicking the links above.

Pinky Promise

How fun are these jeans? Sweet Henry gave them to me for Christmas, and of course, I couldn’t wait to wear them. I grabbed my pink sweater and coat to wear to work. Margaret gave me the velvet bow that matches the jeans perfectly. I love how fresh and light this winter look is. I definitely recommend purchasing a blush coat – you’ll be surprised how much it goes with! Let me know if you need help styling your own pink coat.

Florals, Ruffles and Cords OH MY

IMG_9321

| blouse 1 and 2 | cords | flats: 1, 2, 3 |

I am LIVING in these pink cords this fall, and to my surprise, they go with a lot! I can pair an olive jacket, a colorful floral top or a camel sweater with these bad boys (just to give you a few ideas). If you plan on adding these cords to your wardrobe, I suggest going down a size because they do give.

I also want to share a couple of my newest consignment finds!!! Y’all I’m pumped. I purchased this blouse for $35 from a local consignment shop, and I couldn’t be more pleased. You know I love ruffles, and this pattern allows for a great transition piece. I’m going to pair this top back to my olive pants too. My second treasure is this pair of Chanel quilted flats – new with tags and 70% off. Can you believe it? I struck gold. You’ll see these for years to come.
