This dress is a new favorite of mine! Although the color may be more spring/summer, you can style it so many different ways. As temps get cooler here in Illinois, I will pair it back to my cowboy boots and neutral booties to transition into the next season. The long sleeves give me great versatility. Sometimes if you take a step back from your wardrobe, you realize all the ways you can wear each piece!

Hi, friends! What a doozy the last couple of weeks have been in the Chicago area. (I probably sound like a broken record.) We’ve had snowfall after snowfall, and the sun has made very few appearances. I’m itching for a warm sunny day, but I know we aren’t getting those for awhile. Instead, I’m creating my own sunshine with these white jeans and this floral top. This is the second Andion top (the first) I’ve shown you this year – such a special Spanish line I’ve come to love. Mountain Views + Vibes

Henry and I escaped Chicago for a weekend away in Telluride with old and new friends. It was my first time there, so I loved wandering around town and exploring all the cute shops and restaurants. A couple of my favorites were Two Skirts and LittleHouse – a women’s boutique and a delicious dining spot, respectively. There’s something so quaint about a mountain town and even more special about Telluride because there are very few chain stores and franchises. And even more special, the storefronts remain original to the architecture that’s been there for the last century.

Of course, you can ski, snowboard and snowshoe, but if you aren’t into winter sports like me, you can take the gondola over the mountain for the same amazing views. I also loved seeing all of the wildlife. One morning we woke up to elk right outside of our house. Definitely don’t get that in the city!

We also had amazing weather – sunny skies and temperatures in the 30s and 40s. Just perfect for enjoying the outdoors, so I can only imagine how beautiful it is in the summer. Telluride, we will be back!

The Perfect Personalized Blouse

I love adding special pieces to my wardrobe – pieces that you can’t find everywhere and ones that not everyone already has. This plaid top is by Andion Clothing, a Spanish line I discovered awhile back. I chose the blouse style and then chose the pattern I wanted in that style. I’m definitely not a designer or creative enough to design something from scratch, but this process allowed me to create something perfect for my wardrobe. I styled the Andion plaid top with these colored jeans I’ve worn with so much this fall and winter. I then accessorized with this shearling headband (I can’t get enough of shearling) and an ivory bootie. The booties I’m wearing here could use a trip to the shoe doctor, so I linked a pair that I’ve been eyeing.

P.S. Yes, I was freezing when taking these photos. There is snow on the ground and the temperature was in the 20’s, but there was no other way to show you my new favorite top. Oops!

White Blouse with Peter Pan Collar

In my book, you can never have too many white blouses. Classic button downs, silky tanks, cotton poplin blouses and maybe an eyelet top with a Peter Pan collar!! When I stumbled upon this beauty thanks to a friend, I knew I had to have it. I’ve been on the hunt for a white top with a fun collar, and you really can’t beat this price.

I envision layering this under a sweater vest, tucking it into a skirt and front tucking it into denim shorts this coming spring and summer. When I buy, I keep versatility in mind, and this top will definitely get lots of wear!

By now you can tell I’m all over this cardigan trend. I have found that there are so many different ways to style them: buttoned all the way up, draped over your shoulders and layered on top of tees and tanks. I’ve had fun introducing this piece into my wardrobe. Next, I want to layer this cardigan over a top with a Peter Pan collar to show off that feminine detail. The Sweater Vest

The sweater vest is a fun way to layer and add texture to a casual outfit! I styled it with this old flannel and my go-to skinny jeans to add a little more interest to an otherwise basic look. This sweater vest is also affordable which makes this trend an easy one to try! And don’t worry, you can still wear skinny jeans! When you’re wearing something oversized like this on top, a fitted bottom is the way to go.

Leopard is a fall staple

Okay, first let me tell you… This skirt has been a favorite of mine for the last three years, so I want to encourage you to purchase pieces you think will have a long life in your closet. Not those one hit wonders. Leopard is always on trend and therefore a safe addition to your fall wardrobe. Not to mention, leopard goes with just about everything. Because of this, I wanted to share a few other leopard pieces that will be staples for seasons to come.

Styled Spring Looks #2

Just in case you needed a little spring inspo on this Monday morning! After a week of freezing temps, we now have beautiful sunny and 75 degree weather here in Dallas. That’s Texas for you! I’m over layers and snow boots and ready to move into sandals and sundresses. I decided to style a few spring looks to get you ready for the warmer weather ahead! I love a beige or ivory jean as opposed to a white jean. These are a great way to add another neutral pair to your closet without them being white or a light wash.

Skinny Jeans are a YES

Have you heard what Gen Z is saying?? They claim skinny jeans aren’t cool anymore, and I’m here to tell you they are wrong! Not all jean styles are flattering on every body type, but you know what you feel best in. Don’t let the kids tell you otherwise! I love a skinny jean especially if I’m wearing something blousy on top. My rule of thumb is to wear something fitted on top if I’m wearing a loose bottom and vice versa. I hope this encourages you to keep doing you!
