Hostess Gift Round Up

Hostess gifts can be so hard to come up with! You want to give them something thoughtful and something that they will actually use. With the help of a few friends, I created this hostess gift round up. I hope this list helps you this Christmas season!

#EastmanAndWife

What a weekend it was! This past weekend one of my dearest friends got MARRIED!!! This was the first wedding I’ve been in, and all of a sudden I feel like a real adult. Instead of doing a “Friday Finds” this week, I wanted to recap what an amazing weekend we had celebrating Ross and Bess.

Friday night we practiced our walks and our dance moves! The bridal party and the groomsmen rehearsed walking up and down the isle, and my oh my, what a long isle that is. After, we toasted our favorite couple at Lafayettes, and then a blues band hit the stage.

Saturday was a day for pampering Miss Bess! Hair and makeup teams made us feel beautiful. Once the champagne colored bridesmaid dresses were on, it was show time!

Ross cried, Bess cried, Mr. Nelson Cried… we all cried as Bess walked down the isle. She looked absolutely stunning. After Ross and Bess “embraced,” it was time to dance once more!

A band out of Atlanta had everyone moving – from the grandparents to the flower girl. Blonde wigs and glow sticks were handed out as the night went on. I absolutely cannot leave out the candied bacon – delish!

Thank you Bess and Ross for letting me be a part of your special day!!

I Like What I Do

I thoroughly enjoy getting dressed every morning before work. I suppose this means a couple of things: I like what I do, and well, I like what I do. To be honest, I’ve always enjoyed getting dressed each morning. Maybe not the mornings my mom made me wear tights to church, but every other. And, I like my new job. Working for Front Door Fashion has been a great transition into the real world, and I’ve loved styling each woman no matter her needs. Styling is my passion.

PS this top is old so I found a few great alternatives.

My mother and I found these delightful chairs at an antique store in Memphis. They will pair nicely with the dining table and bench we have in our new apartment in Dallas, AND what’s even better is that we got them for a bargain! We may even recover the cushions to brighten the space.

I just returned from Nashville to visit a friend, and my oh my how I love this city. I got the grand tour even though I’ve been there a thousand times and somehow missed many amazing spots. We visited Downtown Franklin, Pancake Pantry (of course) and Percy Warner Park to name a few. Can’t wait to visit you again, RC!

One of my goals for the few weeks I’m home is to clean out my room. This is quite the task because I’m quite the hoarder. I found a coupon from 2002, an assignment book from middle school and my glasses from second grade. As you can see, it’s time to move on. Goodwill and Plato’s Closet have become my new best friends.

I have been able to get rid of 5 trash bags worth of stuff and it feels great. This is spring cleaning at its finest.

Anthropologie has the cutest cards. Whether it’s a thank you note, congratulations or mother’s day, Anthropologie has a card for you. You can find them sold separately or in packs. Send someone snail mail! Who doesn’t like receiving a letter?

Oh to be a Child

Who knew overalls would come back in style? My mom isn’t so sure that they have, but I like them anyway, oops. I’ve worn them a few different ways: with a t-shirt and sneakers, a button down silk blouse and heeled sandals (shown here), and in the winter I hope to wear a warm sweater and booties. The overalls are versatile – I can wear them every season, no matter the temperature, AND they make you feel like a child again! They will keep me warm in the winter as jeans do but can be worn on a summer night, too. Sorry mom :))
