This weekend was a busy one… from breakfast with friends to car shopping, of course a trip to Ice House, an SMU basketball game and lots of yummy food. I wouldn’t change a thing! My favorite Saturdays are filled with lots of activities and beautiful weather!

Today, I’m sharing one of my favorite sweaters, but shop quickly because few sizes are left. I love that it has a wool body and lace sleeves – perfect for the warmish Dallas weather. Layer with a vest instead of a jacket to show off these fabulous sleeves. What do y’all think?

Sunday’s Best

Finally, Saturday felt like the first day of winter. After 70 degrees and tornado warnings on Friday, we had a snow filled Saturday morning. That didn’t stop us from enjoying a sunny afternoon at Katy Trail Ice House – heaters and blankets included.

Sunday morning I couldn’t bare to show much leg, so I grabbed my over-the-knee boots and a cozy coat. These boots have been a favorite for years and will continue to be a classic style. If you’re looking for an investment piece, these are a go! Grab this dress while it’s still available too – deeply discounted!

Happy Monday! XO, MS

Friday Finds: January 2020 Fashion + Home Favorites

fridayfinds

Happy Friday, friends! Today, I’m sharing with you some of my favorite fashion and home related pieces I’ve seen this month. You know I love clothes and styling, but I also have a love for interior design. I can’t wait to decorate a home some day, but for now, I’ll stick to decorating our little apartment. I hope you love what I found!

Happy Monday friends! I’m back to reality – work, cleaner eating and exercise. I definitely indulged while I was home, and now it’s time to start 2020 with a bang… a few days late. Today I want to share this plaid jacket that sweet Santa gave to me. I found this early on last season, but the price tag was a little steep. A few major sales made this possible! I paired it with some wardrobe staples to make the jacket the statement of the outfit. You can get it on sale too, but make sure you order it a size or two down!

Don’t forget to use the code SanfordStandard20 to get 20% off of the headband I’m wearing!

I hope you all had a very merry Christmas!

I used Rent The Runway for Henry’s sister’s debutant presentations this past weekend, and the process was seamless! I was very pleased with the two dresses I rented and the back up size option they provided. Everything arrived on time (early in fact) and wrinkle free. I will say one of the dresses had a minor stain and a stubborn zipper, but once zipped, I was good to go!

I love that with RTR you can wear something that may be out of your budget, a dream dress per se, and you won’t break the bank! If I had purchased these two dresses on my own, I would’ve paid close to $2,000, but instead I paid less than $180! Below I will link other dresses I love from RTR, similar heels and bags too.

I’m sure you’ve noticed that leopard and snakeskin have been huge trends this season, but not everyone wants to wear bold animal prints. I have a solution for you: choose softer colors or monochromatic prints for subtle yet trendy looks. Take this sweater for instance… Yes, it’s leopard print, but it doesn’t scream “I’m on a safari!”

I hope you have a wonderful Monday! Eight days until Christmas!!!

Layering the unexpected

Have a sweater that’s a little itchy? Layer something under it! This sleeveless turtleneck can drive me crazy after awhile, so I added this striped Harshman blouse underneath. This is one of my favorite buys from the fall. My mom loved it so much she got one too! Click here to see another way I styled it.

P.S. This sweater is old, so I linked something similar!

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday! XO, MS
